WEATHER RELATED CLOSINGS
With the winter season upon us there might be days that the district will close schools due
to weather conditions. There will be a variety of ways to get school closing information.
Closings will be posted on the school and district website; Families will receive a
recorded phone call from the Superintendent; the local radio and television stations will
have updated information. Please make sure your phone numbers are up to date so you can receive
school closing information in a timely manner.
It’s cold outside…. Again remember to make sure your student is properly dressed for the
weather conditions. Make sure they have warm clothing, coats, hats, gloves and proper
shoes/boots.
ATTENDANCE GUIDELINES
Late Arrivals, Early Dismissals – When signing in students late the parent/guardian must accompany
their child into the school to sign them in with a note stating the reason. When signing a student out
before the designated dismissal time a note is required stating the reason.
Absences – When students miss school, their absences are considered unexcused until a note is presented. A hand written, detailed note with specific day and date of the absences must be presented. A maximum of 12 days can be excused by a parent written note. A professional note from a doctor, dentist, health care provider, mental health services, etc. are all excusable notes. Absences can be emailed to: [email protected]

CASE MANAGER’S CORNER
The KCCS Case Managers would like to remind parents and guardians to sign and
return any paper work in a timely manner pertaining to your student’s IEP, transportation information, address changes, etc. It is very important to maintain accurate information in your child's file for future reference.
