Project SEARCH at Bayhealth is a high school transition program for students with cognitive or physical disabilities ages 18-21 who possess the desire to learn transferable, marketable skills to gain competitive employment.
Students receive personalized instruction from a certified instructor and special education paraprofessional to achieve their goals for employment, education, and independent living. Project SEARCH at Bayhealth provides 31 unique, complex internship opportunities in which students are immersed directly in the workplace supported by skills trainers from Community Integrated Services (CIS) and Autism Delaware as well as natural support from Bayhealth mentors. Students complete three ten week internships during the academic year with the goal of securing competitive employment at the completion of Project SEARCH. Project SEARCH is a partnership between Capital School District: Kent County Community School, Bayhealth, and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR).
